After playing in Australia as part of the inaugural Knotfest Australia last March, US rockers Story Of The Year will return this August for a Page Avenue 20th anniversary tour.

Page Avenue, produced by Goldfinger's John Feldmann, is remembered thanks to its huge sound and singles, including Until The Day I Die, Anthem Of Our Dying Day, and Sidewalks.

The tour begins at Perth’s Magnet House on Sunday, 4 August, before heading to Adelaide’s The Gov on Tuesday, 6 August, The Forum in Melbourne on Thursday, 8 August, Sydney’s Roundhouse on Friday, 9 August, and wraps up at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Sunday, 11 August.

Senses Fail—playing their 2004 album Let It Enfold You in its entirety—will join on all dates with Melbourne’s own Behind Crimson Eyes (best known for their 2006 debut album, A Revelation For Despair).

The Early Bird pre-sale opens on Tuesday, 7 May, at noon local time—register here for early access tickets. The general sale begins on Thursday, 9 May, at noon local time via the Destroy All Lines website.

In an interview with The Music last year, Story Of The Year singer Dan Marsala hinted at the band’s plans to tour for the 20th anniversary of Page Avenue, despite 2024 marking the album’s 21st birthday.

“We wanted to focus on the new record [Tear Me To Pieces] first,” he said. “Because the COVID thing pushed everything back – we were trying to get this out last year. But you know, the timing! We were like, ‘Okay, 2022 can be about the new record. 2023 can be about the Page Avenue celebration, but things didn't work that way.”

Last year, Marsala revealed that they turned down “so many movie offers”, including a feature on Spider-Man 2, which ended up going to Dashboard Confessional.

Telling Neil Griffiths the story on an episode of The Plug podcast, Marsala said, “They offered it to us with Anthem Of Our Dying Day first, and they wanted to put Spider-Man in the video, and we had just filmed the video with Joe Hahn from Linkin Park; the video that is out now.

“But they wanted us to replace some of the clips with Spider-Man footage, and we were like, ‘nah, man, people will make fun of us if we do that!’ But literally, it would have been the easiest thing ever; it would have been a massive hit, and it was like, why would we turn that down?! We were just scared - we were scared of all the craziness that would come with that.”
